The new herald – HTC P4350

A new PocketPC by HTC is under way featuring a hardware QWERTY keyboard, a microSD memory card slot and a 2 megapixel camera. The new HTC P4350 is in a way a lite edition of the already available HTC TyTN based on the HTC Hermes platform and is in fact almost the same as Qtek 9100 based on the HTC Wizard platform. Since it is not fully identical to either of them, rumour has it, that the new P4350 is the first representative of the long awaited HTC Herald platform. You can find our in-house table guide on HTC platforms and their respective models here.

Just as Qtek 9100, the HTC P4350 has a TI OMAP 800 200MHz processor. There is a serious difference in size, though. The new P4350 is a good 6 mm thinner than Qtek 9100 and 4 mm thinner than HTC TyTN.

Otherwise, the new PocketPC features some standard equipment such as a large 2.8″ touchscreen 65K colors TFT display with a QVGA resolution, 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, as well as Bluetooth 2.0, USB and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g. Both the Qtek 9100 and HTC P4350 don’t have 3G UMTS support. As with most of the Windows Mobile 5.0, the P4350 makes use of nice office applications pack.

Currently, there is no official information on when the HTC P4350 PocketPC should be available on market.
